I think it is because different celebrities are heroes to different people for different reasons. The effects it is having on our culture is negative. People are beginning to think that everything these celebrities do and don't get in trouble for are alright, such as public drunkeness, drugs, and abuse of loved ones. Young people are buying into the most negative parts, drugs and alcohol. They hear their favorite musical artists singing about drinking and getting high, and they begin to believe that its 'cool', which is NOT a good direction to influence the countries future towards. Celebrities don't even get a fair sentence for jail time to serve for their crimes. They serve much less time than any one else in the public. This makes many think that they too can commit crimes and also get away with just a slap on the wrist. I think that we would be much better off WITH OUT celebrities. Heroes set a better example. They do not drink, snort coke, or hurt the innocent. They are not greedy. They were positive role models, they set moral values for the young. they were heroes to EVERYONE, not just SOME people.

I think our society worship celebrities more than heroes thoes days because some people don't care about thoes days because it's just not in their time in their time right know are celebrities and they care more about celebrities than heroes beause the heroes are old time, old time had olready pass people care about celebrities that are famous, that sing, act, and dance. An effect that this has on our values as a culture are that children see what we do and they will want to do the same as us they wont care about heroes because we don't care them we are the ones that taech the kids we are the teachers and they are the students what we teach them is what they will learn. The message tht is being sent to us as young people is that heroes are history and celebrities are in our time that we should care about celebrities not heroes, celebrities are here to see what's new from them and that they can do something ne every day heroes cant and also heroes don't exist enimore they are in storys or movies but celebrities are every wre in the world.

The reason that i think society worships celebrities more than heroes now is because i think that since the American community is so used to having easy access to things and being able to have so many privileges that the society is used to getting everything they want, in result they take the true heroes of America for granite and worship celebrities because it is so hard to become famous. Another reason is because the people in society like to gossip and celebrities cause a lot of drama and gossip so it amuses the public. Unfortunately the example that they are setting to the American children is to be more into the drama and be more problematic.

of something to say and have more problems because they are famous.
Now the heroes like Martin Luther King is dead so like probably people have forgotten all about him.
Also it has effected us becaue like our heroes have inspired us to do all of these things.
I think a message is being sentto all young people that you should stop being stupid and start appriciating our heroes because they have done a lot for us. This what i think about this question.

             I think the reason we work ship celebrities more than heroes is because we don't want to worry about can seriously affect us in life. That show that our culture doesn't really care about our health. Also it move entertaining to see celebrities shows or what happens to a celebrity in their life's. One reason is their probably made up 2012 because of the swine flu so they wont worry about the  message that is being send to young people is that we shouldn't care about whats happening in our health.

Our socicety pays more attention to celebrites more than heroes because they think that heroes are boring and that what they did isn't that important to them. But to them celebriets are like heroes to them because they tell them what to wear,how to act, what to say, like new slang,and how to walk and things like that. The values to this is not good sometimes cause our society would make it bad from what the celebrites are trying to do.

I think that our society worships celebrities more than heroes these days because people have alot more ways to see whats going on with celebrities.So therefor people become more interested in all of that instead of noticing our heroes. I think that reason some what ruins our values as a culture.Everyone knows that all the heroes are alot more important than celebrities but still don't pay attention to whats right.I actually think that its sending a bad message to young people.It doesn't really seem like a big deal but it still effects the way things will be in the future.

I saw some celebrities on tv and they try to covince us to watch them, so they want us to be like the,. A hero is someone you care and other people, A hero is someone who is thought ful, brave, care to other people and someone that you care about your country and out society we get influenced beacuase we want to see what its like in their shoes, and how it looks from the diffirent culture. we worship beacause celebrities dont live a normal life like us. they just want to be act cool to othere and try to be nice, they just want to be a famous. celebrities only care about fameous and money.

i think we worship celebritys because people lika all the drama and fight on tv we somitimes worship heroes because they will do something interesting for like a second people are only watching that because theirs nothing else on the tv or their favorite show starts in an hour or two people love good shows they will keep watever just happend in the show in their mind for so long they go to school or work or whatever and they talk about how she got in a fight with the other or maybe someone broke up with someone for as in heroes none cares about them they maybe will mention their name once or twice but thats really if they do something super mind boggling.

From my point i think that the society worships the celebrities more than their heroes because they think that the celebrities are more importan than family or their learning values of their coulture. People just think that having celebrities will teach them about their values and tell them whats right or wrong when they dont even do anything like that. Celebrities are nothing just people famous for doing something their good at. At some point the society thinks that its better to pay attention to the celebrities instead of learning what they're supposed to. They ignore their problems and get into those talented people because they dont have anything better to do. The thing that's effecting our cultures is that they learn about celebrites and just forget about their family or their learning values about their coulture. Children that grow up just dont even know about their values. Children go off doing what they want looking at the celebrities thinking that whatever they do they'll do it to without thinking it twice. Another way that it effects their values as a culture is by them not even knowing who was a hero to them or also not knowing who was important in their lifetime. The message thats being sent to young people is that they should be into their cultures are respecting what they need to have to be part of the family and just not go off doing whatever they want because that way people think wrong and bad about them as a family or culture together.

Because they make celebrities look like their life is all easy. Wake up act and have fun for the rest of the day.
They care less about heroes because they know they're the ones dying not them so they run around town doing whatever they want. So when a mass amount of people start doing it they band together to just question everything we do that they think is wrong like "War" for example yes war is a bad thing but they're out there taking bullets for our safety and when they come back we don't even give them a proper welcome back.

I think society worships celebrities more than heroes, because, these days not only young people, but people who like drama and fashion watch reality shows that involve both of them.! Drama, fights, money and nice bodies, is what people is looking for to see in tv. The news is something reserved people, nerds or people with no cable watch when they have nothing else to do.! No offense, but i care more about what happens in the Jersy shore than what happens in our community.! Mayabe it shouldn't be like that. Maybe, we should care more about what happens in our community.! Get more involved and make things better not only for us, but everyones else that cares....

well, it might be good or bad; some might think they could do anything, if they ste theirs minds to it and thats good.! Others might think that life is all about drama and fighting. They think violence is the answer to everything, and dont even ssay thats not true because we all know im telling the truth.!

         I Think that the society worships celebrities more than the heroes because people like the glamor, and the drama more than the facts. They like story lines, and conflict. Humans are just attracted to the drama and conflict because that is just a part of who we are naturally. People Are very glamorized for television. In the real world, They have their own ups and downs. In other words, the drama that keeps you on your toes.
         People's values have lowered over the years. People would rather meet somebody who is on their favorite television show, rather than meet somebody who has found a cure for cancer, or maybe HIV Aids. People need to set their priority's straight. a television star could be a great actor, or even good looking, and they get all the attention just because of that. Meanwhile heroes get no attention just because they don't act or sing. We shouldn't be focusing on celebrities. We should be focusing on the people who may save our lives one day.

i think celebrities because they are more role models to people than hereos are. I think some people think hereos arent real and they are just in cartoons and movies just acting. and maybe celebrities can help and give you good advise for something your gaving trouble with. also because other people can do good and be on t.v. like the celebrities and be famous. celebrities can act, be funny, and do all thing people will love and i guess hereos, all they do is fight and save lifes, thats a good thing but that seems kinda boring because they do it everyday. celebrities, i guess do different things everyday and people love that kind of stuff because they get to see new things that they make. they also make clothes, perfumes, cds, and movies and kids love that.

 I think our society worships celebs than heros because the people like to watch people who are famous and who have the money and who are real popular. The people do not care what goes on in the world and don't care what other people do for our society those are the people who are heros and try to make the world better. This affects our culture because we are in a new generation of people who do not care about heros but only care about celebs and what they do in thier life. I think this message is saying to young people who watch celebs to be just like them and do what they do.

Our society worships celebrities because we enjoy the way celebrities live their unormal life. We enjoy the things THEY have and what THEY can do that we can't. We don't appreciate heroes as much because heroes are normal people like us. This effects our culture a lot. Watching celebrities on TV pressure people and influence people by trying to be like them. Celebrities influence viewers to live like them instead of living a normal life, which celebrities cannot do. A hero is someone who has done a grateful thing that helped someone or people. Acelebrity is someone who is famous for doing something and cannot live a real life, all they have is paparazzi, fame, and money.

I think that makes people so concerned about what they look like that they feel they have to change. It basicly tells you that you have to look a certian way so that they can fit the image of people on tv. Heros dont get credit because we give so much to people on tv we neglect the heros and all their hard work.     Part of that can be true. I know that because my dad isnt the best dad because he is an alcoholic and a drug addict. I know for a fact i dont want to be like him because i want better for myself. I know that my dad ruined his life and my little brothers and sisterslife and i dont want to be like that for my kids. I think that most kids like me dont want to be like like their parents or parent. because they know what it could be like if they ended up the same but then theres the kids that think that's normal to have a drug addict parent so they think if they arent like that then they will "dissapoint" their parents. I wish i could make my dad better but he's a screw up that i never want to be! uhmmmmm ... I think that the kid can be exactly like their parents but most dont want what their parents are like. I think they want to be like " I can do better than my mom/dad/parents" and i think that anyone can be better.

    Personally i dont agree with this because of personal experiences. Compaired to my mom, i am nothing like her and though i have a thing or two in common with her i proudly say i am not like her or my "father." I have two major reasons why i disagree with this.
   The first reason i disagree with this is because of my high school life so far compaired to my moms. She use to play every sport plus was so involved in school and as for me ... I dont like school activities or social stuff like that. My dad didnt even got to high school so that just proved a point. My mom also had a c avarage in school and i get mostly straight a's.
     The second reason is because my mom was a fairly happy child growing up and me not so much. my mom always tells me that high school should be the best time of your life but i dont think so. I feel like high school is just a place to go for making friends and getting to meet new people and find relationships. my mom is also a positive thinker while i usually think of the negative side of things.
    In the end i guess everybody has their own oppinon and this is just mine. this was just to soully express my personal oppinon on this particular subject. My reasoning on this is basiclly just because if personal reasons and outlooks on this.

        People think you become what you are raised by. But i don't think that way some people do. Other say because of the environment they live in or by.
        I say it all depends on the parent if they encourage their kids to pass high school and have a great career in college. Some parent just don't care what their kids do or they let them do what ever they want to dd and that's how they drop out.
            Most people turn out like their parents but not all people that make bad decision like doing drugs or other stuff never have a better chance to have a good life . Those people end up in jail and other bad things. I guess it depends on he person to and what they want in their life also the choice they go through. A other kind of parent there is the one who makes choice for their kids.

If a child is the product of ones environment.... then.. why is the world the way it is now.? If we become what our parents are... If we do what they do... Why is it that there’s alot of violence, Drug addicts, suicides and killing.? I do not agree with this. Every child and every teenager do whatever they want to do, take other people bad influences just to act and be cool.! Most people I know, young people, they are all in school, taking baby steps to graduate. They want to do what they parents couldn’t, they want to be someone in life, they are not going to do the same mistake.! I Know I wont.
I’m going to do my own. Ill try to make the best of me. Every person in this planet has the chance to choose who they want to be, who they want to be like, how to achieve their goals, to plan what they’re going to do and how they’re going to achieve it.
We all have the same opportunity.
Some people say a child is the product of her/his environment, then that’s their responsibility to teach them what’s good ;
To teach them what’s bad; to make them right or wrong. Worth on not Respecting.!
You get to pick your Environment and life style. It is your decision, don’t get the influences get you, well at least not the bad ones.
